The Cobblestone Center is North Lake Tahoe's premier shopping village. We are literally a hundred yards from the shore of Lake Tahoe and adjacent to the Tahoe City golf course.
How to get here:
The Cobblestone Center is located on North Lake Boulevard, which is also Highway 28, on the northwest shore of Lake Tahoe, California.
To get here from Interstate 80, take the Truckee - Highway 89 South exit. Drive on Highway 89 for about 13 miles (you'll pass the Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows ski resorts and then wind along the Truckee River) until you come to a "Y" intersection in Tahoe City. Proceed straight (north) onto North Lake Boulevard. The Cobblestone Center is on the left. (The street address is 475 North Lake Boulevard.)
Parking:
We've got plenty of parking! The Cobblestone Center has their own parking lot for customers.
Mall Hours:
Hours vary from store to store, business to business. Typically most are open by 10 or 11 am daily. The Cobblestone Cinema and Evergreen are two businesses staying open beyond 7 pm. See our Directory for specific information regarding our stores and businesses.
Lake Tahoe:
The first thing you need to know is where here is. Lake Tahoe straddles the borders of California and Nevada right on the spot where both states take a turn to the east (or to the north, depending on how you look at things).
Reno and Carson City, Nevada are the closest big towns, and Sacramento is the closest city on the California side.
The Lake is surrounded by mountains, the Sierra Nevada mountain range, which explains why access is limited.
As opposed to Rome, only two roads lead to Tahoe. So if you decide to drive here, as we pretty much expect everyone to do (if only from the Reno or Sacramento airports) you will be taking either Interstate 80 or Highway 50.
Interstate 80 is the quickest way to access Truckee and the North Shore. Highway 50, while slower, is more scenic and brings you directly to the South Shore.
The Weather:
All you need to know is that we average over 300 days of sunshine, there are 8 major ski resorts and hundreds of miles of trails and single track. Yes, we are the playground of California.
At over a mile above sea level (the Lake is about 6300') we do get snow and sometimes lots of it. But that next day after a storm, you have to see! Typically, crystal clear bluer than blue skies and beautiful powder everywhere.
